"All you wanted Joe was to live. You were born and raised in the beautiful wholesome land of Colorado and had as little to do with Germany and England and France and even Washington D.C. as you did with the man in the moon." (Joe Bonham)
In his classic of anti-war literature, Dalton Trumbo (1905 - 1976) tells of the soldier Joe Bonham, who reviews the madness of World War I after a fatal shell strike. The Berlin publishing house Onkel & Onkel commissioned me to illustrate the novel, which was newly translated into German in 2012.
