THE HURRICANE, 2016

"About eight or nine o'clock, as much as I could take from the height of the sun, a sudden wind arose, which completely overturned our barque on one side. By this she drew water, sank, and I heard and saw nothing of it again in a long time, as you will presently hear. Fortunately, all of us, namely eight men and two boys, saved ourselves by holding on to the trees, whose branches were sufficient for us, but not for the weight of our barque. We remained in this situation for three weeks and three days, living on almonds alone. It goes without saying that there was no lack of drinking. On the twenty-second day of our immortality, the water fell again as quickly as it had risen; and on the twenty-sixth, we were able to stand again on Terrafirma."
