RAPPELLING BARON, 2018
spray-paint, 5m x 2 m
Berlin, Germany
"I made myself a rope from the chaff as long as I could make it. I attached it to one of the horns of the moon and let myself down on it. I held on with my right hand, and in my left hand I carried my axe. As soon as I had slid down a distance, I always cut off the superfluous piece above me and attached it again at the bottom, whereby I reached quite far down. This repeated cutting and tying did not improve the rope any more than it brought me completely down to the Sultan's estate. I may well have been a few miles up in the clouds when my rope suddenly broke and I fell down on God's earth with such force that I was completely stunned.
