"Here, the whole thing takes place in Baden-Baden and at 33 degrees, in a heat that "made you crazy", and in a shabby functional room, in which, under the tense observation of the 'ideational supporters', a hellishly sophistical, 'agonal' (Zyotard) and also semi-sportive massive talk of unparalleled proportions begins. The latter finally expands into a downright "torture de force“. In the course of this, Greif knows how to prove himself as a brash, belligerent, and heavily shod all-rounder, sometimes in such a stormy, self-confident, and daringly screwed-up or stilted manner that even the sympathizer and first-person narrator suddenly feels a little strange in the face of all the nerve-racking accumulation and layering of concepts, theories, and paradigms. Yes, Greif was still talking scientifically and making tinder, it was already a real nuisance. Even Stroh seemed to see it that way, and meanwhile he was exchanging peevishly almost insinuatingly, ostentatiously whispered words with his co-examiners and once also with the assessor Milch, to whom he somehow gave a quick signal with his outstretched greeting arm.’ “
